From October 24 to 26, 2025, a media literacy seminar was held in Sarajevo, bringing together 14 young participants from different parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The first day of the seminar was dedicated to participants’ arrival and getting to know each other, while the second and third days included lectures, workshops, and discussions.
On the second day, participants had the opportunity to engage with guest speakers and facilitators who deepened the discussion on media: Prof. Dr. Amer Osmić discussed the influence of media on youth identity and socialisation, while Senka Kurt explained how media shape societal values and norms, influencing everyday attitudes and behaviours. On the same day, Youth for Peace facilitators, Adel Homoraš and Emina Frljak, led interactive workshops: Adel Homoraš on Youth and Media, and Emina Frljak on Hate Speech on Social Media and in the Media.
The third day of the seminar focused on Media and the Culture of Remembrance. Participants watched Aida Duratović’s film "Uncle's Ring" and then reflected on its themes and the role of media in shaping collective memory during a workshop discussion.
Organised with the support of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation Sarajevo, the seminar provided young people with the opportunity to enhance their media literacy and develop a critical approach to media and digital content.
